We know it is hard work to take care of a baby. But many of us struggle with asking for help.
If you are like me and you find it hard to ask for help, it means that we struggle more and it feels harder and lonelier.
We are a society that values independence, self-sufficiency and self-reliance. And those traits set us up to have a harder time when mothering a new baby.
Many of us feel “weak” or “needy” if we ask for help – and that is simply unfair and not true. Asking for help is like a muscle we need to build and we can only build it with practice. Asking for help is a strength and a key to feeling better.
