It is easy to think people are too busy and probably won’t want to help.
When we don’t ask for the help we really need we make things harder for ourselves than they need to be. It is okay to need help. It is okay to ask for help.
Remember we talked about asking for help is like a weak muscle that needs to be developed and strengthened. And the way to do that is practice. Yes, I mean practice asking for help.
Think about the last person you helped. How did it make you feel? Usually it makes us feel good to offer a helping hand. By asking for help, you give someone the chance to have that feel good feeling.
I encourage you to write this affirmation on a post-it note and put it somewhere you can see it – “There are people I can ask for help and they want to help.”
